Diptyque celebrates the ancestral Vietnamese art of lacquered wood through a new collection of handmade pieces featuring a fresh take on the emblematic codes of the maison, from the signature oval to the revisited dancing letters in striking contrast of classic ink-like black on ivory. In a nod to Diptyque's love of calligraphy, the letters of the Typovalo alphabet, designed by artist Florence Bamberger, dance on the oval-shaped trays and boxes. These timeless treasures, a collaboration between artist and artisan, create an elegant atmosphere while offering everyday functionality in an aesthetic way.

The result of centuries of expertise, each lacquered wooden piece is meticulously handcrafted by artisans from Ha Thai, a village in Vietnam, where the traditional technique originated. After construction, each piece receives an average of 15 successive coats of lacquer before hand-painting. After careful sanding and polishing, the lacquer finally reveals a smooth surface with a mirror-like finish. A patient quest for excellence and an eye for detail guarantee infinite brilliance and depth of colour.
